I have met children in these communities who had never seen a doctor in their life. Not once. Not for a fever, not for a checkup, not for the things most families take for granted. That is the problem this plan exists to fix.

The model
What a Rural Health Clinic actually is
A Rural Health Clinic, an RHC, is a federal designation created to keep real primary care alive in underserved rural places. By law, an RHC can only operate in a rural, shortage-designated area. It cannot exist anywhere else.
The designation gives a clinic a sustainable footing so it can keep its doors open where a typical practice would fail. That is the honest beauty of the model: the same rules that make an RHC durable require it to serve the places with the greatest need. You cannot have the clinic without delivering the access.
A+ Pediatrics, my clinic in Estill County, walked this road already: opened in May 2023, certified as a Rural Health Clinic in January 2024, and now serving thousands of local kids. The playbook is proven. The plan is to run it fourteen more times.

The build
The 5-year build
Clinic one is open and healthy. From here the pace is deliberate. Every clinic is built the same way: a nurse-practitioner-led care team, four to six local jobs, the same standards and systems that made the first clinic work. Each one becomes the pediatric front door for a county that did not have one.
Together, the clinics form OneChild Health: the organization that carries the shared backbone, so every new clinic opens with the systems, standards, and support of the ones before it. OneChild Health will have a home of its own online soon.

Where it starts
The first expansion region is the shortage cluster around our home county. Estill County, in gold, is where A+ Pediatrics operates today. The counties in navy are the focus areas under evaluation for the next clinics.
Focus counties are areas under evaluation, not announcements. Final locations depend on federal shortage designations and community fit.
